For me, 2019 looked like photographing 40 weddings + 10 portrait sessions. From my first international wedding in Mexico to New York City, Baltimore, Chicago, Cincinnati, Virginia, Washington DC, + Philadelphia.
There were first embraces of the day, fits of laughter with best friends, hilarious dance moves, moments of pause and prayer, stories told in speeches, tears of joy for new beginnings + tears of sadness for those who couldn’t be there.
These images are not important because I’ve chosen them to recap the year. They are important because of the people in them and the memories they hold.
Thank you for inviting me in to document your moments.
I had the opportunity to second shoot a lot in 2019. I included some of my photos from a selection of those weddings in this post. A huge thank you to:

Kathryn + Dave have built their lives together in New York City over recent years. What better place to celebrate their soon-to-be marriage with an engagement session in the city they call home!
We started at the Bethesda Terrace in Central Park, then made our way to Grand Central Station. Then, we chased the sun in DUMBO, then ended in the subway. When we were in the subway, I showed them one of their photos and Kathryn started to cry. She said all of the locations we went to were great, but the subway felt like their real life, living in the city. So sweet.
I’ve gotta say, these two are serious champs for blocking out the crowds of people all around us and remaining present with each other. We seriously could’ve spent an entire day exploring with them. It was so much fun! I can’t wait to document their wedding this summer in Cincinnati, OH at Pinecroft!
China + Nate decided to celebrate their first anniversary with a cozy session in their beautiful, new home in Cincinnati. And no session of theirs would be complete without the company of their corgis, Benny + Mila!
It means so much to me when my couples ask me to shoot an anniversary session for them. No matter if you’ve been married for 1 year or 50, any time is a great time to celebrate your marriage with photos!
Now enjoy China’s superior interior design skills, her + Nate’s sweet love, and the cutest corgis on the planet. Heart eyes for daaaaayzzz.

Spending the day documenting Olivia + Brandon’s wedding felt like being a part of their family. These two, along with their family and friends, are some of the most kind, genuine, and hospitable people I’ve had the joy of being around. Everyone had a role in making this day happen and they took on those roles joyfully. I can’t express how much I adore these people! Their day was filled to the brim with genuine joy, emotion, + connection. My hope is that these photos captured and convey how special Olivia + Brandon’s day truly was.
